World-famous skateboarder Geoff Rowley has just released a new skate-shoe and clothing line with skate-clothing company Vans. To celebrate, Vans, together with the Lost Art skate shop in Liverpool have put on a photographic exhibition – Geoff Rowley ‘A Skateboarding Retrospect’ – hosted by Bold Street Coffee in central Liverpool.
My other half was one of the featured photographers, as he skated with Geoff when they were young and has a great back catalogue of photos of Geoff’s early skating days.
Yesterday, we went to Bold Street Coffee to see the exhibition. We also felt compelled to drink hot chocolate and eat cake while we were there (a huge sacrifice for us all …).
The photos looked fab (see the photo at the top of this post) – it was lovely to see them printed and up on a wall – and the refreshments were delicious. The only downside was that my slice of triple-chocolate cake was so large, I had to take half of it home in a box.
Second helpings today then …
If you want to see more of Kev’s skate photos – mostly from the 1990s – he’s been posting on Instagram. You can find him @kevinbanks71.
